Electrician/Automation Technician

Salary Range $32-$35

JOB FUNCTION

Under the direction of our Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for electrical installation, troubleshooting and maintenance within Industrial and Facility settings. Perform higher level troubleshooting of electronic , electrical-mechanical and fluid power systems. In addition to electrical knowledge, mechanical technician type duties will be required. Provides training to craft and operations personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Installs, maintains, and/or troubleshoots basic electrical systems in compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC); NFPA 70E.
• Performs installation according to planned layout of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
• Support maintenance staff in the upgrade and assessment of automated systems and technologies.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications for installation , operation and repair of automated manufacturing equipment
• Detect errors in automated equipment based on mechanical , electrical and fluid power systems of the equipment
• Installs conduit systems, various lighting systems, basic control systems, motor feeders and makes standard motor connections
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeter to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Works as a member of a cohesive team, helps coach and mentor less experience staff
• Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and equipment.
• Performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Performs scheduled Preventative and Predictive maintenance as required.
• Consistently follows workplace safety procedures and participates in toolbox talks, safety audits, and related safety functions
• Immediately identifies, corrects, and/or reports any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Availability

• Although the schedule is primarily days, must have the flexibility to cover off shifts for business needs and customer demand. May include overtime, early starts, nights, weekends and holidays.
