Operates various types of heavy equipment engaged in the construction, repair, or maintenance of county roads and bridges; assists Foreman in supervising Equipment Operators; and transports materials to and from work sites.

High school graduation or its equivalent, plus at least six years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CDL driver's license and tanker combination license.
Safe operation of the equipment used in road construction and maintenance; provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to operation of such motorized equipment; and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
Analyze and evaluate overall safety of equipment and personnel relating to road construction and maintenance; write reports, letters, and memos; read manuals, letters, and memos; operate equipment used in road construction and maintenance; service and make minor repairs on equipment; apply safety standards to prevent hazards; assist others in properly operating equipment; understand and follow instructions; tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse weather conditions; work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers; and maintain Texas driver's license applicable to job responsibilities and good driving record.
