  • Maintains equipment on a scheduled basis; maintains maintenance records.
  • Grades ditches, elevations, drainage channels, sets culverts and finishes concrete work.
  • Performs shop duties as needed.
  • Assists with construction projects.
  • Supervises a work crew on a project basis.
  • Assists other employees with their duties; performs work of lower level positions as necessary.
  • Held accountable for all equipment used and uniforms issued.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2 years job related experience as an Equipment Operator.
  • Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Herbicide and Insecticide Certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Good driving skills and thorough knowledge of and ability to operate required heavy equipment.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions and complete assignment in a timely fashion.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $20.10 - $25.13 per hour based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
