Heavy Equipment Operator - Kalgoorlie

About the role:

Join the Aurizon Bulk Terminal team in West Kalgoorlie (WA) as a key part of our Terminal Operations! Reporting to the Logistics Leader, this permanent position offers an 8 & 6 residential roster, and a structured training program designed to kickstart your career in the terminal industry. You'll gain essential skills, including learning gatehouse operations, operating Fork Lifts, and working towards your Reach Stacker ticket.

This opportunity is open to entry-level, locally based applicants with a minimum C Class driver's licence, a strong safety mindset, and a desire to learn and grow into a multi-ticketed operator. Take the first step towards a rewarding career in logistics!

Responsibilities:

• Operate Medium/Heavy rigid vehicles.
• Complete production work including operating machines, cleaning equipment and tools, and assisting terminal operational staff.
• Handle bulk dangerous goods safely.
• Perform plant and equipment inspections & pre-starts.
• Provide provisioning, service, cleaning, and lower-level maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Contribute to general housekeeping and safety practices.
• Utilise all available competencies and licences, be willing to obtain any necessary licences and/or competencies for ongoing operations.
• Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Gatehouse duties.

About You:

• Proven mechanical aptitude and a strong commitment to safety.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
• High-risk heavy forklift ticket (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team.
• Experience working in a heavy industry and around heavy machinery.
• Basic computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to obtain a Dangerous Goods security card.
