Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems and Equipment at the main hospital building as well as at satellite facilities. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs various types of heating, ventilation. air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Participates in the hospital preventive maintenance (PM) program.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Formal HVAC System Training in air conditioning and refrigeration systems from a Vocational School or Military Technical School preferred.
Water Cooled Chiller Training from equipment manufacturers such as Trane, Daiken, McQuay or Carrier preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Must hold an EPA Certification (Universal Level) for refrigerant handling required.
Must hold a current HVAC Mechanic License as issued by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) at the Master level required.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years Hospital campus or industrial/commercial HVAC work experience required.
Minimum of two (2) years Healthcare experience with demonstrated troubleshooting and repair experiences with Building HVAC System Automated Controls, Water Cooled Chillers and Cooling Towers required.
Demonstrated HVAC System Mechanical and Electrical component expertise required.
Expertise with diagnostics and repair of Central Chiller Plant Equipment and Building Automation System required.
Acute Healthcare experience as an HVAC Mechanic preferred.
