HVAC Technician

Perform general maintenance and install and repair all air conditioning and heating systems throughout  the district.  Assist with maintenance of grounds. 

Perform major mechanical repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance and safety of district HVAC systems. Perform assigned work following established policies and procedures. 

Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all HVAC systems in district facilities.

Education/Certification

Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license.

Texas air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license or technician certification or be willing to get certification

Special Knowledge/Skills

1. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
2. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
3. Ability to operate hand and power tools
4. Ability to work independently
5. Ability to visually inspect and service HVAC systems
6. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and the ability to diagnose and resolve problem
7. Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures on all HVAC systems
8. Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
