Maintenance Mechanic II

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

× Performs various rough and finish carpentry tasks.

× Troubleshoots and repairs problems with mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other systems. Ensures all work is completed according to appropriate code.

× Maintains, installs, and services electric motors, air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, heating equipment, lighting, pumps, and light fixtures.

× Make repairs to waterlines, installs new lines when necessary, cleans drains and performs other plumbing duties as required.

× Oils, greases, and maintains a variety of motors and machines.

× Inspects, repairs and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.

× Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots as appropriate.

× Keeps appropriate inventories of supplies used for each project and replenishes supplies when necessary.

× Participates in the rotating on-call schedule for afterhours and weekend maintenance events.

× Paints buildings and performs minor roofing duties.

Desirable Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and appropriate procedures to make repairs with a strong knowledge of electrical codes, construction and maintenance. Ability to diagnose problems, determine courses of action and make repairs.

Training and Experience:

Graduation from high school and at least 3 years experience in carpentry or maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. NOTE: For the Maintenance Mechanic II position specializing in repair of electrical systems, an electrician's license to perform maintenance electrician work is desirable.

Starting pay commensurate based on experience level.
