Introduction
Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Mechanical Drafter position located in Orlando, FL. This position is a direct hire opportunity which is expected to be on-site.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the design and drafting of mechanical component drawings.
Major Duties:
- Conceptualize and use CAD tools to generate all fab packages for sourcing of mechanical components.
- Optimize mechanical components for performance, cost and ease of manufacturing.
- Interface and collaborate with engineers to take concepts, sketches and layouts and create detailed design models and drawings.
- Maintain drawing revision control per client's internal document control process.

Qualified candidates would have the following:
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficient in CAD design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn other CAD programs.
- Understanding of CNC machining processes and how to optimize mechanical design for ease of machining.
- Good analytical and mathematical background.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Desirable: Knowledge of ANSI and ASME standards.
- Desirable: Experience with the use of Mentor Graphics for the design of printed circuit boards.
Education, Experience, & Training:
- 5-10 years of 2D and 3D drafting and modeling using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- AS degree in drafting, mechanical design, mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience.
