Join our Field Operations team as a Plumber Crew Leader – Construction Crew Leader and oversee critical water and sewer projects.
City of Fort Wayne – Field Operations/WPCM
Position: Plumber Crew Leader – Construction Crew Leader Pay: $29 – $32 per hour Schedule: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise and direct a construction crew in water distribution and sewer/storm collection systems
- Oversee excavations, repair leaks, replace pipe sections, install new assets, and handle valves from 4"–24"
- Perform plumbing work including soldering copper pipe and meter sets
- Operate and direct heavy equipment and trucks as needed
- Ensure jobsite safety, compliance with OSHA standards, and proper documentation of daily work
- Train and mentor crew members
Must-Have Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4 years' experience in heavy equipment construction
- Valid Indiana driver's license; CDL with "A" endorsement within 180 days
- Certified Competent Person: Excavation/Trench & Confined Space (must obtain within 90 days of start)
