UTILITY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I - CITY UTILITIES ENGINEERING (FULL-TIME)

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., varies

Location: Fort Wayne, IN


What You'll Do

  • Collect and document field data for water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
  • Assist with inspections, flow tests, pressure investigations, and GIS-related tasks.
  • Prepare basic maps, drawings, and utility plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ESRI GIS. • Verify and update infrastructure locations, assets, and project information. • Support construction inspections, recordkeeping, and coordination with engineers and project managers.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology OR 10 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with CAD drafting, inspection, or survey work (six months minimum).
  • Basic experience with word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work in the field, follow safety standards, and operate a City vehicle.
  • Preferred: Autodesk AutoCAD experience.
