Salary Range: $153,610 - $234,260 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)
CA Positions: A 10% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in San Jose, CA, and San Francisco, CA, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.

Project Overview:
Bechtel has been appointed by The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) to provide Construction Management Services for Phase II (BSVII) of The BART Silicon Valley Program. The program further extends the BART system from the Berryessa Station in north San Jose, through downtown San Jose, and continuing to Santa Clara University. This landmark project is a six mile, four-station extension, linking the Phase I terminus at the Berryessa/North San Jose BART station to the Santa Clara Station in the City of Santa Clara. BSVII is planned to include a 54-foot single-bore tunnel, three underground stations, one at-grade station and a maintenance facility.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will support the Program Manager and oversee the activities of Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Lead Inspectors, Construction Inspectors, and Administrative/Project personnel. The Construction Manager shall have full delegation of authority to provide direction, supervision, and monitoring of all contractor construction activities. Your leadership will ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget, and clients are satisfied.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership/Supervision
Manages the organization and direction of construction and related activities of a single construction contract, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, client contractors, suppliers, and their representatives.
Acts as primary contact.
Oversees and monitors contractor work for compliance to schedule, budget, technical specifications, contract drawings, and contract requirements.
Resolves design and field construction problems.
Attends construction progress meetings and reports on status.
Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
Implements design and field changes.
Maintains effective client and functional department relationships.
Reviews, approves, and negotiates contractor requests for change, consistent with direction by the Program Manager and client.
Oversees contract administration activities performed by the Contract Administrator, and assists in the preparation of contract change orders/modifications.
Planning
Oversees construction expenditures for labor equipment, material & services, and ensures field operations are within the budget.
Establishes construction field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite.
Safety & Quality
Ensures development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, Safety Plan, Site Survey Plan, Non-manual Staffing Plan, Subcontracting Plan, Labor Strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
