SUMMARY:

This position performs mechanical engineering work, as required, when designing fuel tanks, frames, and various other metal fabrications such as complex weldment and assemblies. Daily responsibilities include communication with internal and external customers, understanding mechanical, production and quality issues and defining design parameters to support company philosophy and to ensure customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTES & RESPONSIBILITES:

· Designs products for manufacturability using a combination of independent research and collaboration.

· Generates product models, conceptual layouts, and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.

· Prepares accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), supports the development of manufacturing process flow, and collaborates directly with production staff on incorporating change requests.

· Supports materials sourcing, purchasing, and selection required by the design process and customer and compliance requirements.

· Provides technical and engineering support to production operators and other internal customers.

· Observes all designed projects from conceptual phase through production to final assembly.

· Performs cost review of various jobs – identify materials, labor requirements and related costs.

· Suggests recommendations for cost savings, labor efficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

· Communicate directly with customer-based liaisons to define solutions to fill the customer’s requirements – must follow-up on communications routinely.

· Ability to act as a project lead by guiding teams, managing schedules and goals, and communicate status updates with stakeholders.

· Completes all assigned tasks and works independently with minimal guidance.

· Assists the Design Engineering Manager with coordinating and assigning design projects.

· Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

· 6+ years of experience in a design or manufacturing engineering role.

· Proficient in Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

· 3D CAD proficiency is required, preferably Autodesk Inventor.

· Must possess effective written, verbal, and oral communication skills.

· Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and the desire for challenges.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
