DescriptionPosition Summary
The Utility Technician II will perform general maintenance and repairs for equipment and facilities to the standards set forth in the scope of work developed by the customer.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- May operate power tools, and vehicles such as leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, golf cart, fork lift, utility truck or van.
- Performs upkeep and maintenance to the grounds including snow or refuse removal and trimming limbs or bushes.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous related experience in a similar industry.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Exposure to varying levels of noise, air quality, lighting, and exposure to the elements.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
