Vice President Job Description

 

LiveWire Construction, Inc. is seeking a results-driven and visionary executive to serve as Vice President in its Utility & Infrastructure Division. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, this role holds responsibility for operational strategy, business performance, and market growth for the division. The Vice President will lead a high-performing leadership team, and drive initiatives that enhance profitability, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate for the Vice President position at LiveWire Construction, Inc. is an emotionally intelligent, seasoned executive with a proven track record of leading complex operations in the utility and electrical Infrastructure industries. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, strong financial acumen, and the strategic foresight to position LiveWire as a leader in the electrical construction industry.  They are a visionary strategist and decisive leader who excels at balancing long-term business direction with operational execution.

 

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $175K–$225K, commensurate with experience
  • Executive sign-on bonus
  • Annual Short-Term Incentive (STI) based on year-end NP vs. budget performance
  • Potential individual performance bonus

Performance Outcomes Scorecard:

  1. Minimum gross margin of 15%; targeted gross margin of 18–20%
  2. Minimum net profit of 5%; targeted net profit of 6-8%
  3. Safety performance in accordance with established company annual KPIs
  4. Acceptable AR aging and stable cash flow in accordance with established company annual KPIs
  5. Rework below 3% of annual revenue
  6. Full overhead allocation
  7. Compliance with reporting requirements



Key Responsibilities:



Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President to define and execute long-term business strategy.
  • Direct and shape operational strategy to ensure scalable, profitable growth of the Utility and Infrastructure division.
  • Drive organizational goals, profitability, and performance benchmarks within the Utility & Infrastructure division.
  • Establish and drive policies and strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals



Operational Excellence & Financial Management

  • Provide executive oversight of divisional project budgets, job costing, and project profitability.
  • Ensure alignment of division’s operational decisions with organization’s financial targets and strategic goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor division and project-level KPIs to proactively address variances
  • Lead quarterly and annual business reviews with team to assess financial health and market trends.
  • Partner with Finance and Estimating teams to assess bid accuracy, pricing strategies, and revenue forecasting.
  • Analyze backlog and pipeline projections to inform resource allocation and business planning.



Market Growth & Client Engagement

  • Participate in bid reviews, ensuring cost and scope accuracy.
  • Ensure safe, on-time delivery of quality projects
  • Collaborate with Business Development to scale revenue streams and market presence.
  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships for repeat business and referrals.
  • Represent LiveWire at industry events, community organizations, and professional committees.

 

Safety and Corporate Risk Management

  • Leadership level engagement in creating, implementing, and driving division’s safety initiatives
  • Oversee division’s project risk assessment and mitigation strategies to safeguard profitability and reputation.
  • Executive-level project safety oversight and safety project plan reviews to ensure compliance and minimize risk.

 

Employee Performance Management & Development

  • Ownership of team performance - Develop, coach, and retain a high-performing leadership team.
  • Foster a collaborative culture across field and office teams, focused on accountability, growth, and operational discipline.
  • Support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development
  • Support workforce planning, training, and talent development in collaboration with HR.



Education and Experience:

  • MBA, BA, or BS in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive executive leadership in construction, ideally electrical.
  • Proven track record in commercial, institutional, industrial, or healthcare projects.
  • Exceptional financial acumen, contract negotiation skills, and operational discipline.
  • Experience leading in a growth-focused, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and internal teams.
